Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

I would like to thank all those people that came and helped on Saturday morning to clear away the growth in the dead boat park. It is looking amazing! We have already moved a number of boats in preparation for the West Bank Work, due to start on the 27th<\/sup> August.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

All boats by the bungalows and in the lower Laser boat park (by the ramp) need to be relocated to the overflow.<\/p>\n

We are planning to have all the boats moved by Sunday 25th<\/sup>. We are watching the water levels closely and are hopeful, at this time, that we will still be able to sail on that Sunday.<\/p>\n

For regular sailors please consider when your last race will be and move your boat accordingly. If you wish to float your boat down, then safety boats will be available on Sundays and Wednesdays. <\/em><\/p>\n

Racing Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wednesday Sailing<\/em><\/p>\n

Tricky conditions split the fleet and despite leading all the way Tom was never that far ahead of the chasing pack. Ed found his form and took his Laser around the course, occasionally knocking competitors out of the way, to claim second on handicap ahead of Steve in his Supernova.<\/p>\n

There are 5 more races scheduled for the series but I honestly expect that we will only be able to have 2 of those before we lose the water. Adjustments will be made to the scoring and the results will be posted.<\/p>\n

Sunday Sailing<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

On Sunday the final race of the Summer Triangle was sailed. This last race shook up the whole of the series results so far. Cameron, winning the last race, tied with Eva on points, but with more wins over the series, he takes first place knocking Eva into second. Meanwhile Stella, Dan, and Richard all tied points for 3rd<\/sup> place, but with 2 first places Stella takes the place.<\/p>\n

In the Sunday afternoon sailing Tom took first place in both races, easily securing the win of the series with the best possible score. The race for second and third place is still up for grabs, but this may all change if we are unable to sail on the 25th<\/sup>. Watch this space.<\/p>\n

In the Silver Fleet Dan\u2019s consistency and presence has helped him to the top of the leader board, keeping Freddie and Ed, back from their world tours, in second and third places. With the risk of losing a race, and changing the number of races to count, silverware is still up for grabs!<\/p>\n

\n

Single Handed Regatta<\/strong><\/p>\n

This Sunday is our Single Handed Regatta. As before we will be having 3 fleets (Full Rig Laser, Solo, and Menagerie) but this year, if there is enough interest we will also have Silver Fleet.<\/p>\n

There will be 3 races, with the first race at 12pm following an 11.30am briefing. This will be followed by lunch, then 2 races in the afternoon. The best 2 races will count towards your results.<\/p>\n

The Silver Fleet, which is open to all classes of boats, will follow the usual Silver Fleet process as has happened in the B Series, and be calculated on Portsmouth Yardstick.<\/p>\n

Social Events<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite running out of water we will still be holding a mixture of social events over the next few months. Details will be shared in the newsletters as usual.<\/p>\n
